Home jersey: The football jersey that a team wears when playing in their own team's home ground, usually in the main colours of the playing team. Such as, AC Milan's home jersey is red and black, Manchester United's home jersey is bright red, Brazil's home jersey is yellow-green, and Portugal's home jersey is red-green.
Away jersey: the football uniform worn by the team when playing away from home, the colours are differentiated from the home jersey and other colours are usually used. For example, Real Madrid's away shirt was black with blue stripes in the 2009-2010 season.
Material and edition differences
Material: There is no significant difference in material between the home and away football wear, both are made to the standard provided by the sponsor. Players’ football jerseys are usually made from higher quality materials, while fans’ football shirts are more suitable for everyday wear.
Versions: The football jerseys can be categorised into fan and player versions depending on the price and materials used. Players’ edition football jerseys are of higher quality and are usually supplied by sponsors to clubs or national teams, while fans’ edition football jerseys are more suitable for ordinary fans and amateur players.
